WRAL-TV5 Lighthouse Project
 
The Photography staff of WRAL-TV has undertaken a new online version of events along with their regular news photography duties where they document the relocation of a landmark lighthouse with photos and real audio reports by the photographers themselves.
 
"WRAL-TV's photo staff is into our 5th week of the Lighthouse Project.
Each week one of eight photographers spends a week with the
construction crew working on the historic move of the world's tallest
masonry lighthouse. The actual move is scheduled to begin in May and
take 6 weeks to complete the half-mile trek. By the end of the project,
each of the eight photographers will have spent at least two weeks on
the sight.
 
Beyond shooting the daily work on the lighthouse in HDTV format, each
photographer shoots still pictures that are placed daily onto WRAL's
web site. Along with the photos, photographers also file RealAudio
reports from the lighthouse as well."
